It was not built from ambition. Dr. Cassian Taro founded Turbotec Corporation in 2987, after his daughter, Unity, disappeared during humanity's first attempt to bridge mind and machine. Out of that loss came a promise: no discovery would ever again cost more than the world was ready to pay, and the future would be built strong enough to survive its own breakthroughs.
Working alongside the World Defence Force, the Corporation fields the technologies that keep that future intact against the threats that would end it.

Before CoreX powered anything, there was the Nexus Core, and one question: can a mind cross into a machine and come back?
The first full-scale activation answered half of it. The subject's body survived. Her consciousness did not return. Nothing was recovered from the system, the chamber, or the subject.
As CoreX technology transformed civilization, humanity entered a new era of unprecedented opportunity, and unprecedented danger. Temporal anomalies, rogue CoreX experimentation, illegal trafficking through the Nexus River, and increasingly sophisticated global threats quickly exceeded the capabilities of conventional military forces.

Scientists named the phenomenon the Nexus River, an invisible network of temporal currents flowing throughout history.
To those possessing the technology to navigate it, time is no longer a straight line.

As access to the Nexus River became possible, a vast criminal economy emerged. Powerful syndicates began trafficking future technologies, ancient artifacts, lost civilizations, extinct materials, and impossible objects across centuries, selling them to governments, corporations, collectors, and the highest bidder.
History was no longer protected. It became a commodity.
The Nexus River evolved into the world's most valuable smuggling route. Every century became a new trade route. Every civilization became a warehouse. Every war, discovery, and empire became an opportunity for profit.

No single government controls the river. No border exists within it. Its currents are ruled by smugglers, mercenaries, brokers, and powerful syndicates that have built their fortunes by stealing history itself.
One passage is licensed. Turbotec Corporation holds the only sanctioned transfer through the river: equipment issued to operators in the present timeline, recorded, serialised and authorised. Everything else that crosses is contraband.
Declassified Addendum
The continued exploitation of the Nexus River has resulted in an unprecedented number of temporal breaches within the present timeline.
In response, the World Defence Force has activated the Danger Elite Initiative, a highly classified program tasked with identifying, containing, and eliminating threats emerging from the Nexus River.
Its operatives are drawn from our present timeline. They are the only known individuals capable of intercepting stolen technology, recovering lost artifacts, and preventing history from being rewritten.
